Urban Landscapes

by Giles Thurston

While I am drawn photographically to and have a love for the countryside, I was surprised to discover how much I also enjoyed photographing urban environments. As my work regularly takes me to cities around the world, it gives me plenty of opportunity to get out with my camera and wander the streets, in search of inspiration. While I would not describe myself as a street photographer, where possible I do like to include a human element in my urban photographs.

Series of angular concrete surfaces with textured walls under fluorescent lighting.

Gritty urban wall covered in graffiti art and street murals under dramatic sky.
